Regardless of whether you’re a fan of motor racing, the Monaco Grand Prix is a sporting event that is recognised by many. Considered to be one of the most prestigious racing events in the world, the Monaco Grand Prix was first introduced in 1929, and has been an annual event ever since.

The event is held at the Circuit de Monaco which consists of the city streets Monte Carlo and La Condamine. The track is famed for its tight corners and many elevation changes, which have challenged renowned racers such as Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher.

Those looking for accommodation when attending this prestigious event should consider the Heritage Monte Carlo. The hotel is popular with many tourists thanks to its central location and its beautiful views of the harbour. There is also the Hotel Metropole, famed for its wonderful food and excellent concierge service.

Just as the Monaco Grand Prix is recognised as one the most popular racing events, Wimbledon is considered one of the most, if not the most, famous tennis event in the world. Not only is it one of the majors that is still played on grass, but it also has a rich history. First introduced in 1877, the traditions of the event are what makes it so famous. These traditions include the strict dress code, and of course the consumption of strawberries and cream.

Evidently Wimbledon is a popular event, so it can be useful to be aware of what accommodation is available within the area. One popular hotel among visitors is the Lodge Hotel in nearby Putney. Visitors are treated to view of a landscaped garden, as well as being able to offer a number of spaces for guests to unwind.

Those looking for a more Victorian feel may wish to opt for Warren House, a beautiful mansion that is home to four acres of landscaped gardens. This matched with a professional service ensures that guests are able to relax after a heavy day of watching.

El Classico

Football is a popular sport among many, and the El Classico is one of the highlights for many football fans. Focusing on matches between rival teams Barcelona and Real Madrid, the event is popular for a number of reasons. Some consider it important as it highlights the talents of two of the biggest clubs in the world. Others enjoy the fact that the two teams are looked upon as having opposing political oppositions, with Real Madrid representing Spanish nationalism, and Barcelona representing Catalan nationalism.

The 2016 match will be held at Camp Nou in Barcelona, so attendees looking to stay over should look at hotels within the vicinity. The Hotel Duquesa is a four-star hotel that has a central location in Barcelona. Guests can enjoy the luxurious restaurant, as well as taking advantage of additional perks. These perks include complimentary newspapers and wireless internet access.   Alternatively, the Medinaceli is also located centrally, and offers guests a comfortable stay, laundry facilities and air-conditioned bedrooms.

And, if you’re not that into sports, you can always stay in your luxury hotel while the others go and spectate.

The Perfect Party Venue

private-partyLooking for somewhere to hold a party can be hard work, especially if you want somewhere a little different or a little more luxurious. Sure there are no shortage of local venues, such as community centres and the local pub. But one category that is often overlooked as a venue are the hotels and particularly the city hotels in places such as London. So what kind of venue could work for a party and how do you go about organising one?

When you start to compile a list of possible venues for your party, there are a few considerations to take into account. Firstly, think of your guests and how they will get to the venue. Is there a tube or train station nearby? Or is there parking if they want to drive to the event? Then consider vendors who will be doing catering and other areas of the party – can they access the venue as they need to? Are there lifts and a loading area for them to bring in equipment and supplies?

Organising the party can take a lot of work and for that reason, many people are turning to an events planning specialist to do the hard work. They look at a list of venues and then get an expert eye on which would work best for the event in question.
